This beautiful bison actually lives today on the National Bison Range, Moiese, Montana. He blessed us with this view of him ever so gingerly taking a flower off of a wavy leaf thistle.
The original was a wood burning that I glued to an acid free mat. I then drew my interpretation of a Hidatsa Bull Society dancer, hieroglyphic type hoof prints and bison. The Hidatsa Buffalo Calling Song and a ceremonial ramming lance complete the picture.
